Is it genuine double glazing?
Absolutely! We only ever fit genuine sealed double glazing into our clients homes.
Unfortunately there are a lot of secondary glazing alternatives in the market place today that are being labelled as ‘double glazing’. However, these alternatives do not provide you with the same benefits as genuine double glazing does. So we recommend asking this question first!
How does it work?
As glass is a poor insulator, both warm and cool air easily escapes through a single pane. This means the comfortable temperature you create inside your single glazed home, is easily lost. However, double glazing is made from two pieces of glass sealed together with an air or Argon gas filled gap in between making it a greater barrier between heat loss and heat absorption in your home.
How big is the air gap?
Typically between 8-12mm. However the size does depend on the age and make of your existing joinery.

What is 'Ryan' Double Glazing?

‘Ryan’ double glazing is the process of upgrading single glazed windows to sealed double glazed units. We do this by removing the single pane of glass and fitting a double glazed unit into the existing aluminium window frames. The process is quick and trouble free and means there is no need to redecorate after we leave.
